V1. Do one or more Core Values cases from the appendix of Cultural  Detective USA, identifying the values of both sides and suggesting bridges. Bring results on paper, or e-mail them to a facilitator  for evaluation. There is a large collection of  additional USA Cultural  Detective cases that you can use to practice your values analysis skills  and find new bridges for difficult situations. Do as many or as few as  you  like. If you prefer to do them by hand rather than by e-mail you can   download extra copies of  the Cultural Detective Worksheet

V2. View a US film or television show and identify the key cultural values and the role they play in the story. Bring results on paper, or e- mail them  to a facilitator  for evaluation. Look at the list of suggested  films and the  procedure for review. You may watch and discuss the film  together, but  must report individually

Interview (using face-to-face, telephone, or online chat, etc.) a  manager or worker who is working or has recently worked for at least one year in the USA  about his or her successes, failures, challenges and  feelings about the  experience. V4. Read the poem "Fix" by Alicia Suskin Ostriker found on the blog at   http://lynikers.typepad.com/on_buck_lake/2005/06/bfix_by_alicia_.html . Write a one to two-page reaction to this piece. Bring results on paper,  or  e-mail the transcript to a facilitator  for evaluation.

V5. Do a Google search for SUVs (4x4s). What US Key values are  represented by these vehicles and how they are marketed? V6. Form a small team. Have each team member view a different US  corporate web site. Identify the key cultural values and the role they  play  in the construction and language of the site. Discuss your results via chat, e-mail, phone or meeting and draw conclusions. Send your results on paper or email them to a facilitator  for evaluation. A  transcript of the chat with your conclusions could also serve as your report.

V11. Paris vs. New York is a blog that juxtaposes images of the two  cities in contrast to each other. Either from searching the net and/or from your own photos, compare your home country or city with a US one and note how the differences in values systems in the two places might explain or illustrate the differences in the pictures you compare.
