Doing Business with Finns

Those working with Finns from abroad or within Finland will learn important values, facts and behaviors needed for successfully interacting with and influencing their Finnish colleagues both in the workplace and in social life.

Developed by Kirsti Earl and Kati Cartmell

Kirsti Earl is an American of Finnish and German heritage. She has lived in Finland and Germany and has travelled extensively in Europe. Kirsti enjoys meeting people from different cultures and learning about them. She is currently completing her Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree and hopes to start work on her Master’s degree directly thereafter. Kirsti currently lives in Finland with her  lovely daughter.

Kati Cartmell is an International Business student at the Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences, Finland. She is currently working hard on her thesis for her Bachelor’s degree and hopes to graduate by the end of 2010. Growing up in the middle of the Finnish countryside, Kati developed a love for animals and nature as well as a love for the English language. Kati has always had an interest in foreign cultures and hopes to find a career where she would be able to put her interest to good use. In 2007, she married her British husband, and while he struggles to learn Finnish, they look forward to beginning the rest of their lives together.
