Andrea is a German ex-pat who has lived in Ireland for four years and who is currently writing her PhD dissertation in the field of medical communication. During her data collection in the Irish hospital system she encountered the effects of cultural diversity on patients and on healthcare providers. This experience added to her interest in human interaction in general, which she studied for her psychology degree specialising in social and organizational psychology, and cross-cultural communication in particular. Andrea recently relocated to Switzerland where she is pursuing a career as trainer and researcher of diversity competence in healthcare.
