Colombia, the gateway to South America, surprises locals and visitors with its flavors and nuances inherited from the racial mix. The indigenous communities that initially populated the territory, and then the Spanish settlers would come to the lands of the new continent. The Spanish, in turn, brought slaves from the African continent. From this blend arose the Colombian culture. Later, other cultures migrated from other countries and were added to this mixture, contributing today’s Colombian diversity. This game shows the country’s values, characteristics, and traditions, as well as behaviors and habits. It is important to emphasize that given the multiculturalism present in the country, each region has its own subculture, so this game cannot be seen as an absolute description of Colombian culture, but rather as an overview. Colombia, la puerta para acceder a Suramérica, sorprende a sus locales y visitantes con sus sabores y matices heredados a partir de la mixtura racial. Las comunidades indígenas que poblaron el territorio inicialmente, y luego vendrían los colonos españoles a las tierras del nuevo continente quienes, a su vez, trajeron esclavos del continente africano; a partir de este brebaje surge la cultura colombiana. Luego, a esta mezcla se sumaron otras culturas que migraron desde otros países, contribuyendo a la diversidad de Colombia. Este juego pretende dar a conocer los valores, características, y tradiciones de los colombianos, al igual que el comportamiento y hábitos. Es importante recalcar que dado la multiculturalidad presente en el país, cada región tiene su propia subcultura, por lo que este juego no puede ser visto como la descripción absoluta de la cultura colombiana, sino que es una perspectiva general. ¡Bienvenido a Colombia!

María Camila Vergara Salgado was born and grew up in Montería, a city with Caribbean flavor in northern Colombia. Interest and curiosity for cultures were latent from the moment she was born given my mix of indigenous, Spanish, and African roots. International Business student at Universidad EAN in Bogotá, Colombia; exchange student at JAMK University of Applied Sciences, Finland. In the Colombia game she shows the real Colombian values, character, customs, local cuisine, folklore, and debunk the negative stigmatization around certain topics.

Estudiante de Negocios Internacionales en la Universidad EAN en Bogotá, Colombia; estudiante de intercambio en la Universidad de Ciencias Aplicadas JAMK, Finlandia. En el juego Colombia muestra los verdaderos valores colombianos, el carácter, las costumbres, la cocina local, el folclore, y desmitifica la estigmatización negativa en torno a ciertos temas.
